Purpose
DealYield publishes calculators and educational guides to make real-estate analysis easier to inspect. This policy defines the minimum standard for selecting, building, reviewing, and maintaining that content.
The policy applies to calculator pages, guides, methodology records, examples, FAQs, and supporting educational copy. It does not turn an educational estimate into financial, investment, lending, legal, or tax advice.
Topic selection and page intent
Every calculator and guide pair must serve a distinct analysis question. Search wording alone is not enough reason to create a new page.
Before a new pair is approved, DealYield records:
- The user question and intended audience
- Why the question is distinct from an existing calculator
- The proposed inputs, outputs, units, assumptions, exclusions, and edge behavior
- A representative worked example with expected results
- The evidence supporting publication
- The person responsible for formula and content maintenance
Closely related keyword variants belong on one substantive canonical page. A new route requires enough original utility and explanation to stand on its own.
Formula and evidence standard
Calculator behavior comes from deterministic, versioned code rather than editorial copy, analytics, artificial intelligence, or a third-party response. Each released formula has schemas, explicit rounding behavior, tests, examples, warnings, and a version identifier.
Guide claims should be supported by the strongest practical source for the statement. Depending on the subject, that may include:
- Statutes, regulations, government or regulator publications
- Official lending or housing-program documentation
- Recognized professional or standards-setting material
- Direct product documentation for technical claims
- The tested DealYield implementation for statements about DealYield behavior
Sources are checked for relevance, authority, date, and fit with the claim. Market conventions, lender targets, and jurisdiction-specific rules must not be presented as universal facts.
Drafting and review
Drafts are checked against the released calculator, its schemas, formula disclosures, fixtures, and tests. A reviewer verifies that:
- Inputs, outputs, units, and periods are consistent.
- The worked example agrees with the released formula version.
- Assumptions and exclusions remain visible.
- Links point to the canonical calculator, guide, methodology record, and related topic cluster.
- Metadata and structured data describe the page accurately.
- The page avoids recommendations, guarantees, invented benchmarks, and unsupported legal or professional conclusions.
Artificial-intelligence tools may assist research organization or drafting, but they are not accepted as an evidence source or calculation authority. Generated material must be checked against primary evidence and the implementation before publication.
Content contributors are not substitutes for qualified legal, tax, accounting, lending, accessibility, or security reviewers. Claims requiring specialist judgment are either reviewed by an appropriately qualified person, clearly bounded to verified facts, or left unpublished.
Review dates and triggers
Every guide displays a review date from the typed content registry. Every methodology record displays both its review date and formula version.
A page is reviewed again when:
- Its formula, schema, warning, example, or linked calculator changes
- A cited rule, official source, provider fact, or market convention materially changes
- A correction report identifies a possible factual or calculation error
- Search intent or internal-linking changes could make the page misleading or duplicative
- A scheduled maintenance review finds stale links, dates, examples, or terminology
A review date means the page was checked under this workflow on that date. It is not a certification, legal approval, or guarantee that every external source will remain unchanged.
Structured data and presentation
Metadata, canonical links, sitemaps, and structured data must match visible page content. DealYield does not use structured data to claim ratings, credentials, guarantees, or authorship that the page does not support.
Calculator and guide pages remain accessible without an account. Useful content must not be hidden behind lead capture. Headings, labels, links, tables, warnings, and interactive controls are reviewed on mobile and desktop as part of the release gate.
Independence and commercial influence
DealYield does not currently publish paid rankings, sponsored calculator results, or advertising-based recommendations. If commercial relationships are introduced later, they require a separate disclosure and must not alter calculator formulas or suppress relevant limitations.
Corrections
Possible errors are handled under the Corrections Policy. A correction that would change released calculator results also requires a formula-version and compatibility decision; it is not made silently in editorial copy.
